Description
Excellent, very hard to find DJ review promo 45 by Del Phis. Songs are "I'll Let You Know" b/w "It Takes Two" Original review promo on Checkmate Records #1005. Condition is Good (4) writing on labels, several marks/scratches/scuffs, the I'll Let You Know side play grades better than sight grade. It Takes Two side is noisier of the two sides
In 1957, the sixteen-year-old Martha Reeves joined fifteen-year-olds Gloria Williams and Rosalind Ashford and fourteen-year-old Annette Beard to form The Del-Phis. The group spent around four years performing in talent shows, high school parties and private events and being trained by future Motown groomer Maxine Powell at Detroit's dance hall, the Ferris Center. During group detours, Reeves formed the Sabre-Ettes and joined the Fascinations before returning back to the Del-Phis who were now recording backup for Detroit musician/writer/producer Mike Hanks. After performing at several talent shows, the group was signed to the Chess subsidiary, Checkmate Records, with the release of this record, Martha Reeves-led "I'll Let You Know" in 1961.

Grading Scale:
10: Mint Perfect record, clean gloss, no marks, beautiful in every way. Very few records will make mint.
9: Mint- Very clean, only a few light marks. A great record.
8: Excellent (VG++) Condition between 7 and 9.
7: VG+ Used, but not abused. Light scratches only. Should play, and look very nice with minimal surface noise.
6: VG Still a nice record. Looks a bit used, light scratches, no gouges, still plays well, some surface noise.
5: VG- A bit rough but will play ok. Fills the collection.
4: G Plays very rough. Has multiple scratches. What a bargain!!
3-2-1: It only goes down from here.
