Finish underground death metal legends, Demigod, took the scene by storm in the early nineties with the release of their vicious, pummelling debut full-length, Slumber Of Sullen Eyes. Originally released in 1992, many within the metal community still herald the work as a monumental contribution to the scene with its combination of Floridian groove and Swedish buzzsaw technicality, offering a bridging point between two differing interpretations of a style that would eventually coalesce into the standard blueprint throughout the nineties. Even genre greats such as Cannibal Corpse and Decapitated would soon follow suit, and exude a willingness to allow outsider influences help to dictate the natural decrepit progression of the metallic maelstrom.
