PACIFIC OCEAN BLUE
(CBS INC/CALIBOU RECORDS 1977)
This is the original 1977 US Pressing of founding Beach Boys member Dennis Wilson's LP Pacific Ocean Blue (Caribou stereo PZ 34354).
This Set includes original gatefold cover, printed inner sleeve & picture label.
Produced by Dennis Wilson & Gregg Jakobson. Engineers Stephen Moffitt, John Hanlon & Earle Mankey. Guesting on this recording are the Double Rock Baptist Choir, the wonderful Hal Blaine (drums) & Bruce Johnstone.
The Condition of this item:
The Gatefold Sleeve is In lovely shape. There is virtually no wear on the photo & print. No marks, stains, writing, holes, cuts or tears. No front ring wear, but moderate scuffing shows along the top & bottom edges. Very Small degree of banging on 3 of the corners; bottom left front corner has average wear from banging & a one-inch half-crease. Print on spine is all readable but with some speckling along spine and wear to bottom of spine. Two small speckles on back spine & very very faint ring wear covers less than a sixth of back cover circumference.
Inside cover looks perfect to me. Appealing photos by Dean O. Torrence & Karen Lamm-Wilson of the oceanic world of Dennis Wilson.
Inner sleeve has barely mentionable imperfections, just some areas of very faint discoloration. (Matrix: PAL-34354-1H/1D)
The LP's Platter sheen is lovely and bright, with no scratches or flecks. I'd give the label an A+. Stirring photo of a caribou comprises the inventive label design.
