This first pressing plays with stunning quality on both sides with very little intrusion. There are some ticks at the end of the fade out on 'Condemnation' on S1 and some static / crackle during the instrumental passage that closes 'Get Right With Me' on S2. Aside from that the clarity, depth, power and warmth of the audio is superb and S2 in particular is incredible! This album may well be my personal favourite of theirs and the audio will not disappoint.
The cover has one small split on the top edge but is otherwise in superb condition and the lyric inner is similar with one split on the right hand edge.
This pressing is the very first variant of the first pressing.

Visual description
The vinyl is in excellent condition overall and still has a strong glossy look with no scratches. Under a bright light there are some faint hairlines but there is nothing that stands out. A couple of very small 'squiggly' marks also that have no obvious affect on the audio. There is also just a tiny amount of very faint mottling but you can only see it when you hold the vinyl at a certain angle. The labels are perfect with no spindle wear.
Play grading
The intro on 'I Feel For You' plays perfectly and Gahan's opening vocal is outstanding. The audio here is so deep and powerful and it continues to play with a sonic quality that is second to none. This has to be played on vinyl - there is so much added depth and resonance and I cannot overstate how STUNNING the audio is here. I played it loud and there is no distortion on the top end, every section plays with impeccable quality and there is only minimal static on the fade out so I will grade as Mint- accordingly.
'Walking In My Shoes' has only minimal light static on the intro for 3/4 seconds and the opening vocal is near perfect with just one barely audible static. It continues to play with exceptional quality and by that I mean with no intrusion of course. I only 'picked up' a couple of very quiet background statics - admittedly there is a little static / crackle right at the end of the fade so I will say Near Mint but it's true to say the vast majority plays with stunning quality.
The intro on 'Condemnation' has barely any static and the opening vocal is faultless. It continues in the same way and the depth and warmth of the audio is again first class. The only intrusion is some ticks on the fade out so Near Mint is fair.
The intro on 'Mercy In You' is very clean and the opening vocal is just as strong. I have to say again the power and depth of the audio is out of this world! As stated this is perhaps my favourite album of theirs and the production values in my opinion are superb. From start to finish this classic plays with such precision and Mint- is easily deserved.
The intro on 'Judas' plays so clearly with only a couple of light ticks at the start - tremendous clarity and warmth. Gore's first vocal has no background whatsoever and this standard is very much prevalent throughout. The If you want my love section near the end is phenomenal and the closing instrumental has no background aside from a gentle hiss right at the end of the fade out so Mint- is still fair in my opinion.

'In Your Room' begins perfectly. The intro is quiet and yet it plays with sublime clarity and the opening vocal is very similar with only a couple of minor statics at the start. As the drums come in the audio is stunning and the first chorus is 'as new'. It continues to play with deep, strong audio and sonically it is phenomenal. It's a dark, brooding classic and on vinyl the depth and power of the audio is kind of exemplified. The end instrumental plays with stunning precision also and Mint- is very much deserved.
The intro on 'Get Right With Me' has barely any static and the opening vocal is perfect. It continues to impress on every level mixing electronica and gospel in that typical Mode style! There is some static and a little crackle on the 'separate' instrumental at the end but that is the only intrusion. I will grade the 'main' track as Mint- and the concluding section as VG+ Another classic in 'Rush' and it plays with superb audio from start to finish. Great power and depth and even the quieter mid section has no interference, 3/4 very quiet statics that is all. As the power kicks back in the audio is 'as new' and the remainder is just as strong. Mint-
'One Caress' has just one light static on the intro and the first vocal is perfect. The strings play beautifully and every section plays with imperious quality. A relatively quiet number and yet the clarity of sound is stunning. A Mint- version.
'Higher Love' ends the album with supreme quality once more. The intro is 'as new' and the opening vocal is equal to that with not one solitary static sound let alone anything more. The following instrumental is perfect and thereafter plays with wonderful depth and clarity. I sometimes think it's easy to forget this track amongst all the other strong contenders but it's a very impressive number when you sit back and listen to it! The second longest track on the album and Mint is deserved here, no minus necessary!
The Cover & Lyric Inner
The cover is in excellent condition overall with only one obvious area of wear. There is a small section of wear / split in the centre of top edge but aside from that the edges are very clean. The spine is in great shape with only a couple of tiny rubs and the four corners have only minimal wear. The opening edge is pristine. The front cover is close to perfect with only minimal wear on a couple of corners and the back cover is stunning. It's just that small split that keeps this cover from being a superb example which is a shame!
A similar thing with the lyric inner because it does have a 5cm side split on the right edge but other than that it is so clean with no marking or creasing.

I will only send items items worldwide via tracked shipping. This provides 'peace of mind' in case of loss or damage. The shipping costs are shown below and combined shipping is always offered. Any over-payment will always be refunded.
The Royal Mail only insure up to a value of £250 so if an item sells for more it may be wise to use a courier service (e.g. Parcelforce or DPD). An extra insurance premium will be required but I will not know the exact amount until the final sale price is known. Because of this I will sometimes have to estimate the cost and this will be shown in the listing. All vinyls are packaged in strong over-sized custom made mailers with plenty of extra cardboard protection. They are placed inside separate poly-lined inners outside the cover so as to avoid seam splits in transit and then placed inside a PVC sleeve to provide even more protection. I pride myself on my high quality packaging as my feed confirms and if any customer has any specific requirements I am more than happy to help.
The mailers I use cost £1.00 each and I will use anything between 3-5 cardboard stiffeners which cost approx £0.18 each. There is also the cost of the poly-lined inner and PVC sleeve to consider, it all adds up! Not forgetting that eBay take 10% of the shipping fee also!!
