Mega-rare European free music with pianist Misha Mengelberg, saxophonist John Tchicai, guitarist Derek Bailey and percussionist Han Bennink. While Tchicai and Mengelberg are both exceptionally gifted players, Bailey and Bennink have literally redefined the capabilities of their respective instruments and have proved their skills and imagination to be of almost superhuman capacity. Recorded in 1970 and released on Bennink’s own label, these are improvisations that transcend notions of style or gene; this is pure music. Bennink is also responsible for the playful and slightly subversive cover art.
Disc is VG++. Cover has old price sticker and sticker residue and maybe cat claw marks along the spine. A bit of writing on the label too.

After a three year hiatus, during which we moved and built our Permanentrecords library/vault/watering hole, we are finally up and running as an Ebay seller again. Welcome back to all our old friends and hello to new ones. We’re going to try things a bit differently this time. We will still feature great, rare, obscure, strange and little-known vinyl, but we’ve decided on no reserves and a very low opening bid on even the choicest stuff. We’re hoping that this will keep you coming back to us for the chance at some genuine bargains and maybe even steals, as we allow each item to find its natural price. We are also hoping to expand into some of our other interests in the near future, like vintage clothes and books.
