DERRICK HARRIOTT & THE CRYSTALITES THE TICKLER / DAVID ANTHONY – ALL NIGHT
200?? VINYL DUBPLATE 7inch OF 1968 RECORDING
This is a recently cut vinyl dubplate that is surplus to my requirements of two total killer Derrick Harriott productions. As fine a Rocksteady vocal tune as David Anthony's ‘All Night’ is the rhythm is most highly revered for the next cut The Tickler. It was believed for many years that the tape had been destroyed the day after Derrick Harriott cut the dubplate owned by Duke Vin (Legendary selector on foundation Jamaican Sound System 'Tom The Great Sebastian' and the man who alongside Count Suckle is widely regarded as the man who brought sound system culture to the UK in 1955), such was the tunes significance in Duke Vin's Dub Basket that he became known as 'Duke Vin The Tickler', however this tune was not a special that was cut for Duke Vin (No mention of his name on the tumne as is normally the case with Sound System specials), purely a next cut of the David Anthony vocal which Derrick Harriott for whatever reason distributed no wider at the time of its recording than the dubplate given to to Duke Vin. However it became clear that all of the mystique that had bulit up surrounding the mastertape for the tume being lost/destroyed was untrue when Derrick Harriott issued the tune on a CD in the 1990s in sparkling quality straight from the mastertapes and it is this release that was used as the source for this dubplate of 'The Tickler' I am ow disposing of the dubplate I cut for personal use at an opening bid less than it actually cost me (and thats before any fees eBay/Paypal charge for the sale) ahead of a release on 45 which has been widely advertised by both myself and the label all over the internet. If you want the reissue like everyone else will have then dont bid on it, if you would like this vinyl dubplate its up for grabs!
And a message to the haters on Facebook who did not have the guts to contact me direct when they decided to have an issue with the sale of this dubplate (Not that its any of their business anyway!) ...... before you open your mouth get the facts right, as they say in Jamaica "When you dig a hole for one, dig two"
