Description
Auction is for an ULTRA RARE ORIGINAL CANADIAN PRIVATE PRESSING of DES McANUFF'S "URBANIA: A NEW ROCK MUSICAL" LP from 1970 on Private Label. Insanely rare and elusive primitive teenage lo-fi rock musical with some fuzz guitar in the mix that was conceived by Des as a sort of futuristic environmental commentary. This was performed at Woburn Collegiate in Scarborough (a suburb of Toronto) with his collaborators being his fellow students. Sound quality here is somewhat lacking, as it's not the best pressing, but for some reason I feel this only enhances the whole experience. Still mostly unknown, this is truly a trip for those with a taste for something unique. From what I've been told, there was only 100 copies pressed (for fellow students) and likely not many are still floating around. Cover is still in original shrinkwrap although some slight browningon back by jacket opening. Vinyl has a few light marks/scuffs. Nice copy!
