Description
As much as it bums me to sell these, it's time to let them go. I am going back to school and could really use the $ for education expenses.
These Desert Sessions records have had one owner (me) and I bought them all brand new. At the time, I worked at a record store and often had the very first crack at the new stuff in our shipments. They were nearly impossible to find when they were released in 1997-1999, let alone 10 years later - long after the demise of Man's Ruin. We would usually get only a couple of copies of each Desert Sessions release, and between myself and one or two other employees they would never even make it on to the sales floor. I would actually scour the Mordam distribution catalogs in advance to see when they would be shipping so we would know ahead of time. Our customers never even saw them.
As you can see from the pictures, these are pretty remarkable collector's pieces. Each one has a Kozik designed silkscreened cover, and they are beautiful. More than just records, they are works of art. They are also all in pristine condition. The covers have nary a fold or crease anywhere and the vinyl is NM. Needless to say, they ain't gonna go cheaply. Volume 1 regularly sells in the ballpark of $350 on eBay just by itself. The copy of Volume 1 that I own also includes a double sided promo postcard for the Kyuss/Queens Of The Stone Age release, shown in photo # 4.
You will probably never see a complete set of these on eBay again!
