If there was ever a truly beautiful example of this DEXTER GORDON MASTERPIECE it would be this one. I've had many Blue Notes come through the door over past decades where even if the cover looks somewhat acceptable the vinyl itself is always TRASHED. But NOT IN THIS CASE. READ ON >>>
This one is truly stuck somewhere between VG+ and NM so I guess we'll give it a very enthusiastic VG++, that's DOUBLE PLUS. Yes, it's THAT CLEAN and YES it has the "Ear" etc (SEE PICS) making it not only the REAL DEAL but this record PLAYS SO CLEAN and QUIET I'm going to give it and extra + making it a VG +++ that's TRIPLE PLUS! If you have any doubts just have a gawk at the clean labels and crispy sharp spindle holes. READ ON >
This recording is nothing short of breathtaking and give me a chance to show off my new McINTOSH Stereo System (SEE PICS).
Never mind the SAX, the drums are so punchy and snappy it's sound like the drum sets is there right in the room. (I actually had to do a double take but then again 420 is now legal in NYC ; ) Thank you Weed Dealer, and thank you Rudy Van Gelder !!!
SO there you have it. This one came out of the "RECORDS WE WILL NEVER SELL" Box and doesn't turn up often especially in this excellent condition. Even the cover has just the right amount of vibe, patina, MOJO if you will. Suitable for framing but trust me you're going to want to PLAY THE SH*T out of this BLUE NOTE.
*We also included an article that looks like it was cut out of a vintage jazz mag from back in the day, with a GREAT REVIEW that the former owner must have cut out and slipped in to the jacket. Now if it were only a few $100 bills ; ) SEE PICS !!!
