Description

Elusive in this early pressing and lovely condition, this is a flawless copy of German DGG SLPM 136037. The disc is a thick pancake "Alle Hersteller," and the cover, dated 3/1960, has "STEREO" in red, and a red stereo sticker. Eugen Jochum conducts the Bavarian Radio Symphony and the Berlin Philharmonic in the Symphonies 1 and 8 of Beethoven.

This record was auditioned with a Goldring 1042 cartridge, Music Hall TT, Densen amplification and Epos speakers. The thick pancake disc looks glossy and superb, and plays quietly and perfectly: NM. The cover has some edge wear, so VG+.

This is a true collector's copy of this earliest stereo DGG--you are unlikely to find better.
