DHARMA BLUES BAND

MAJOR MINOR

Cat.no.:   SMCP 5017

UK 1969

1ST PRESS machined matrices

THIS LP IS SERIOUSLY RARE AND VIRTUALLY IMPOSSIBLE TO FIND!!!!  THIS IS ONE OF THE RAREST LPs ON THE MAJOR MINOR LABEL - AND VIRTUALLY NEVER TURNS UP FOR SALE!!!!  JUST TRY AND FIND ANOTHER ONE!!!!  BACK IN 1969 WHEN THIS LP WAS FIRST RELEASED - IT ONLY EVER SOLD IN ABSOLUTELY TINY AMOUNTS, AND WAS ALMOST IMMEDIATELY DELETED!!!!

UK 1969  1st press Vinyl Condition:  EX. Only very lightly played. This is the earliest Major Minor vinyl, unbelievably heavy and with a full glossy "as new" sheen. A joy to behold!!!

Rare original issue with great psychedelic cover of the one and only album by this blues/psych trio from UK. An excellent copy and really hard to find obscure blues gem, laminated cover has not any crease or flaw.

Formed by Hawkwind guitarist/songwriter Dave Brock, pianist Mike King, and harmonica player Luke Francis in 1964, this British blues trio gigged heavily around London, eventually recording versions of Sonny Boy Williamson II's 'Dealing with the Devil' and Pete Johnson's 'Roll 'Em Pete' for a British blues compilation. The band also backed Memphis Slim on tour in the UK, but before the band could record a full-length LP, Luke Francis and Dave Brock quit the band, with the latter going on to form Hawkwind shortly thereafter. Mike King, however, decided to continue on his own, recruiting Gary Compton on harmonica, and John Hillary on guitar and vocals, to record this convincing British blues LP in 1969."

MAJOR MINOR SMCP 5017:
Original UK Major Minor release, rare, obscure and very collectable!

*********A MAGNIFICENT EXAMPLE**************

OVERALL CONDITION - NM

I'M PROUD TO PRESENT THIS RARE ORIGINAL UK ALBUM: "DHARMA BLUES BAND"  FROM 1969 !!! . HOLY GRAIL PSYCH/BLUES  LP WITH PROG TINGES ESPECIALLY IN THIS AWESOME CONDITION!  THE RECORD IS IN FANTASTIC EX CONDITION, UNHEARD OF FOR ANY BLUES ALBUM OF THIS ERA!!! PLAYS AWESOME ON EACH SIDE,  LOOKS LIKE FRESHLY PRESSED!!! THE SLEEVE IS FRONT LAMINATED AS YOU CAN SEE THE COVER IS IN NEAR MINT CONDITION, SEE PICS!  TRY TO FIND ANOTHER COPY LIKE THIS ONE!!!  A FANTASTIC COLLECTOR'S COPY! COMES WITH THE ORIGINAL  INNER SLEEVE IN EX CONDITION!

Vinyl:  EX. I have played this in full> There are NO jumps, NO clicks and NO sticks!!!Just a couple of wispy hairlines on side 2 which are shallow and cannot be heard and can barely be seen.  The audio is stunning all the way and this album sounds fantastic and was totally underrated at the time. It totally went under the radar and is now extremely scarce especially as a first issue on the extremely collectable UK Major Minor   label!!

Sleeve: EX+. NO CREASES AT ALL>THIS IS A SPECTACULAR BEAUTIFUL SLEEVE TO BEHOLD. The pics show all. An absoluty great upgrade!! Rich like newly printed colours, this has been stored away from sunlight for nearly 50 years. No stickers, NO writing, NO tears , NO splits.  A super crisp opening and fully readable spine. A notoriously hard to find collectable but impossible in this fine condition!!!

Labels: NM.  UNMARKED!!! Have a look at the close-up shots, not even 1 spindle mark!! This album is most likely unplayed (apart from my test play), evident from the glossy vinyl and the untouched labels. It looks like it was bought yesterday!!!

This is a unique investment opportunity!!! This album hardly sold at all. Finding this album in any condition at all is nearly impossible so late in the day. Psych/Blues/Prog crossover albums are far and few between and only produced in a small time window between 1967 and 1971. If you like this it is also worth checking out Cuby & The Blizzards from Holland. This album is only going to go one way ... up and up ... until it will be totally unavailable at all for a reasonable price. How many would be left??? But in this superb condition ....? Golddust!!

Important :International postage will be registered and insured if over GBP 41.00.  Postage to Italy will be recorded at any final auction price. This is due to the totally unreliable Italian postal system. Sorry to all my Italian collector friends. Please wait for my invoice before paying. Postage will be according to Royal Mail rates. Postage is NOT a money spinning exercise for me.

Though there are rarely ever any problems with my items, I always try my very best to describe everything exactly!  PLEASE REMEMBER to contact me FIRST,  if you have any problems at all, before you leave feedback and star ratings, so I get a chance to turn any negative experience into a positive one!  I can always happily sort anything out for you, if you let me know you have a problem!  This way no one has to leave Negative/Neutral feedback - and we both walk away happy! Similarly with the amount of stars, anything less than a full 5 * rating is effectively detrimental to a seller's rating as lower ratings will incur higher Final Value Fees  and lower priority in the bidlists eventually making it unattractive to list items on Ebay at all. I know of at least one major previous Ebay seller who has decided not to list via Ebay again. Please do NOT bid if you cannot give me at least 1 chance to sort everything out to your FULL satisfaction in the unlikely event of a problem.  Thanks again!!

This an excellent investment opportunity!!! Any questions please ask me and I will try to answer soon.
