Description
Available here is an original copy of Dharma Blues - a 12" first pressing vinyl LP. It was issued in the UK by Major Minor Records in 1969 and has the catalogue number SMCP5017.
Record Condition - Excellent - The disc is almost mint visually - very bright and clean and only close inspection will reveal a single small and light surface mark. I’ve listened to both sides and can confirm that there is no jumping or sticking, with just the odd click cropping up and a little background crackle at times.
Sleeve Condition - Very Good - Original sleeve with laminated front panel. Light edge wear with minor marks to the white background of the rear panel. Large pictures of both sides of the disc and sleeve are available on request.
History - In 1964 Dave Brock and Luke Francis began playing as a duo, later to be joined by Mike King and in time performing under the name of The Dharma Blues Band. This line-up released no records by themselves, although in 1969 Mike King, along with John Hillary and Gary Compton released this album simply called Dharma Blues. Ambiguous as to whether it was the name of the outfit or the actual title, means that it’s a matter of conjecture as to whether this could be called a Dharma Blues Band album, since neither of the two founder members were involved. However, Mike King was a member by the time they took to using that name and this album is certainly built on the material played by the Dharma Blues Band and would probably have sounded pretty much the same if the original line-up had made it.
