The Diamonettes recorded this one back in 1971 and it has now been unearthed by Japanese diggers for this special 7" reissue. It's one of those aching soul classics that will cost you a pretty penny on second hand markets, if you can even find a copy in decent condition that is. This female soul group from Miami, Florida were active in the 1960s-1970s but are credited only with this one EP. 'Don't Be Surprised' is a swooning classic with aloof and yearning vocals over gentle rhythms embellished with percussion and bright strings. On the flipside is 'Rules Are Made To Be Broken'
