Incredibly rare original stereo first pressing on the Oz-only World Record Club label (white 'S' on pale green background), of this highly sought after album by Dick Dale And His Del-Tones. This is one of Dick's most collectable original album releases, and this Aussie pressing features a completely unique sleeve as well as labels. This stereo pressing has superb sound quality (as do all the original WRC releases). Collectors Note: Another unique aspect of this version, is that the album is credited to Dick Dale And HIS Del-Tones (and not 'THE' Del-Tones as per the US release on Capitol).

The vinyl here has some light scuffs and marks, but plays beautifully - no ticks, sticks or skips - and the sound is absolutely superb! Between a couple of the tracks there is a slight hint of sn, but it's so light, it's hardly there at all! Visually, it grades at VG to VG+, but it easily play grades at a strong EXCELLENT. The sleeve is terrific too. Features a laminated front which shows some signs of shelf wear, but it's minimal. Brilliant 'big wave' picture dominates the visuals. The unlaminated back has a bit more handling, but is still lovely and clean considering it's 42 years old! The flipbacks are clean, solid and intact. The spine has one tiny superficial crack, but again it's solid, and the title, etc is clear - fully legible. The opening edge has a couple of minor dings, but is still sharp, with no softening. There is no writing, stickers, sticker marks, splits or tears - lovely and clean. Label print is bright & crisp, with only a bit of ageing, and a fair number spindles on Side 2, but only a few on Side 1 . Once again, no writing, stickers, sticker marks, or tears.

For those unfamiliar with this album, Dick's music combines pounding surf beats, driven by his unique guitar sound (stoccato picking, heavy twang, etc), with some great vocal tracks as well. This is where surf music was born, and showcases just why Dick Dale is considered the undisputed King Of The Surf Guitar - and why he was a major influence on all those who followed! Contains some DD classics such as Summer Surf, Surfing, Surfin' Rebel, Thunder Wave, and Banzai Washout.

This album is rare in any pressing form. The stereo version is highly sought after (even more so than the mono pressing). Add to this the fact that this pressing is unique to Australia, and features different labels and sleeve, and you have a magnificent collectable for all fans of great surf music, and Dick Dale fans in particular.
