DICK SCHORY Bang, Baaroom And Harp NM/NM Used Vinyl Record
Record Label: Classic Records/RCA LSP 1866 Year: 1958
Classic Records 180 Gram Audiophile reissue of the 1958 Hi-Fi showcase on the RCA Victor Living Stereo label (LSP-1866). Cosmic Lounge by Dick Schory's New Percussion Ensemble, who directs the listener to "stop coddling your Hi-Fi set" on Music for Bang, Baaroom and Harp.
RCA "Black Dog" Living Stereo recordings are considered to be of true Audiophile quality. This recording was no exception. Long out of print, the 180g versions are far more desirable than the later 200g versions. Great record, great sound and highly collectable!
Record cover and vinyl are both in Near Mint condition. Corners are sharp, spine is straight and colors vibrant on the sleeve. Vinyl is glossy and plays beautifully.
Songs:
Side 1 1. National Emblem March 2. Baia 3. Way Down Yonder In New Orleans 4. Ding Dong Polka 5. April In Paris 6. Holiday In A Hurry
Side 2 7. Buck Dance 8. Duel On The Skins 9. September In The Rain 10. Tiddley Winks 11. Sheik Of Araby 12. Typee
Review: The recording of the "biggest battery of percussion west of Cape Canaveral" holds much promise: dozens of standard and exotic percussive instruments, high production values, and a mostly interesting choice of tunes. The jacket, depicting Schory poking out from a pile of instruments, is a classic of LP art.
