Audiophile reissue of the 1958 Hi-Fi showcase on the RCA Victor Living Stereo label (LSP-1866). Cosmic Lounge by Dick Schory's New Percussion Ensemble!
This original 1958 "Black Dog" Living Stereo recording was mastered at Half Speed from the original source master tapes. An all-analog, tube amplification process was used at every step, then pressed on high quality virgin vinyl, one sided at 45 RPM, for the highest possible audio quality.
Classic Records used a proprietary vinyl that guaranteed virtually no surface noise and sonically superior dynamics.
In short, this is as good as this album is ever going to sound on vinyl. Don't wait... this four record set is long out of print and growing harder to find - especially in this brand new, still sealed condition.
The records are new and still sealed in their original tight shrink wrap. Corners are sharp, colors vibrant and spines are straight. There are no flaws or blemishes. 100% mint.
Review: Review: The recording of the "biggest battery of percussion west of Cape Canaveral" holds much promise: dozens of standard and exotic percussive instruments, high production values, and a mostly interesting choice of tunes. The jacket, depicting Schory poking out from a pile of instruments, is a classic of LP art.
