Description

DILLINGER s/t Heavy Canadian Prog Rock Psych Original pre THE HUNT

1974/Cdn/Daffodil Records DAF-10045….. here’s a nice original pressing of this rare Canadian prog psych lp. The thick heavy gatefold cover is in VG++ condition with very light general shelf wear/corner wear, otherwise solid and clean with no splits or delete. The vinyl is in VG+ to VG++ condition with light storage stains on side one and some light sleeve scuffs on side two. The vinyl plays great with light noise at cue, between tracks and occasional quiet spot. Nice fidelity! Clean labels. Includes Daffodil inner sleeve that has creasing in one top corner and one side is split partially. A nice copy here! Please check my auctions for other prog and psych lp’s. Good luck and thanks for looking!

From Toronto, Ontario, Canada the band was formed in 1973 by the Harrison brothers, Jacques (keys, vocals, sax, flute, accordion) and Robert (Drums, percussions) both from Quebec.Paul Cockburn and Terry Bramhall were eventually added, respectively on guitars and and bass. The following year they signed with Canadian label Daffodil and released their first self-titeld album. The album was an original mix of jazz and progressive blusey hard rock. It was made up of only four tracks including the side-long ''Live and Return'' as well as an interesting cover version of Spitit's ''Nature Way''.
Due to it's complexity, the album was met with indefference. Constant live gigging and dedication eventually got the band a bit of recognition.

GRADING

MINT: I consider only New Unplayed or Sealed items.

NM or M- or Mint Minus is the same to me, very clean with clean visual appearance and sound, there may be a couple of light inaudible hairline scuffs or such and will be mentioned in the listing, a Mint- record looks and plays clean. Same as per condition of the cover. Very clean with no delete or other issues.

EXCELLENT: still very collectable for most, visually and sonically clean. A handful of light inaudible scuffs, or hairlines. Cover will be clean with little wear, or delete. No splits.

VG++ still a very nice copy with minimal wear, the vinyl will retain its original gloss and can have a few minor scuffs/scratches that don't affect play very much. Cover will have slight shelf wear, and or delete, minor split.

VG+ the vinyl will still retain much original gloss with a bit more scuffs and/or scratches. If I list a rare or desirable item with a lower grade, I will try to list all defects.
