Description
Dionysos
" Le Prince Croule "
Zodiaque ZOX-6001, 1972 original issue 1st pressing (Canada)
(run-off matrix #'s: 5058 and 5059)
Dionysos' first album ''Le Grand Jeu'' (from 1971) was a rough and heavy bluesy psych prog rock LP topped by gruff vocals.
This, their highly coveted second album "Le Prince Croule", is an absolutely superb conceptual progressive gem built on a story that revolves around a fictitious crumbling dynasty of the past ("The Prince Crumbles").
Released a year after their first LP, their sophomore album showcases the band in a more experimental and progressive mode .....yet it still boasts that same rough & heavy organ-driven blues-psych and raw vocals heard on their debut. .....Definately the stronger of their two releases. (ProgArchives album reviews: Here)
Paul André Thibert (vocals, hamornica and flute), Robert Lepage (drums, percussion), Éric Clément (guitars), Jean-Pierre Legault (bass) and André Mathieu (keyboards, organ)

2. Chanson du Courage (3:11)
3. Demain la Vie (4:20)
