DIRE STRAITS-BROTHERS IN ARMS-1985 PROMO QUIEX AUDIOPHILE ROCK LP

This is a rare original promo copy of the Grammy winning album by Dire Straits, Brothers in Arms, released by Warner Brother Records in 1985, Quiex vinyl. These Quiex pressings are high quality and rare and were never issued as commercial pressings, only to radio stations for over the air play. The LP was mastered by Robert Ludwig and his initials are pictured in dead wax to the left of Q signifying Quiex edition . The original inner sleeve with printed lyrics is also included. This is very rare pressing with near mint copies having a book value of $80.

 As to grading, I grade very conservatively following Goldmine Record grading standard. Except that for records that are a notch below near mint, rather than VG ++, I prefer to use grade of Excellent. I do not use VG++ grade in addition to Excellent grade as is done by some.

Visually the album is in excellent condition. The LP is being graded at about VG+ due to play grade as specified. There are heard a few ticks at the beginning of instrumental introduction of Money for Nothing. There was really nothing else heard while music plays, just a few ticks in the dead area on Side 1 between songs Your Latest Trick and Why Worry, and on Side 2 between Ride Across the River and The Man's Too Strong. The LP was play graded using headphones. Overall the LP is still a nice listen. The cover is in very good condition. The corners on all sides are very slightly worn. The top seam and bottom seams are strong with no splits on either seam. The spine is strong as well with the product information clearly readable. The front cover is in very nice condition with vibrant cover. Cover has few crease at the spine on both sides.

The LP is being sold without reserve and payment is expected within 3 days of auction close. Return of the LP will only be accepted if the same LP sold is returned sealed .Buyers that behave in a less than ethical or unreasonable manner will be reported and blocked from participation in future auctions.
