Description

Dirty John's Hot Dog Stand With Kenny Paulson

'Return From The Dead'

Flying Dutchman, USA, 1969

AMS-12004

FORGET THE strange title this is a flippin' rare heavy blues psych outfit with all the right moves - lashing of super fuzzed out lead guitar with solos that seem to go on forever. 'Blue Skies', 'And Now I'm Coming' Home', I Won't Quit' and 'Kansas City' rock like sons of bitches...heavy riffing, total blow-out lead guitar and wailing whiskey soaked vocals. One of the best unknown heavy psych albums - side two will slay you.

The Flying Dutchman label was a small operation run by a dude named Bob Thiele, a jazz aficiando and much of the roster was indeed jazz orientated except for a couple of psychedelic outfits that he must have signed whilst drunk or trippin' out on LSD. You can imagine him walking into a bar getting drunk and signing these long haired reprobates on the spot.

Tough to score.

This auction is part of a fantastic collection of seventies rock which I was lucky enough to acquire. Most of these records were stored with the utmost care and sparsely played. Some were possibly never played or may have been for just a handful of times.

Pressing: Flying Dutchman, USA, 1969

Sharp corners (edges orn) - no dings, no bends, light ring wear, no split seams and no creases. Tiny saw cut top right. Spine is stiff and straight but displays some wear. Grades as Vg+

Inserts: None
