Description
This will be my final listing before Christmas, so I can get all records away in time to avoid the "Christmas massacre". As time is still at a premium at this end I will be listing records on a "rolling" basis over the next few days. So please do keep looking! In all cases these are from my own shelves, as I am thinning out my collection. As well as 78s, I still have the odd book and catalogue to go out, plus a few theatre programmes. I have graded as conservatively as always. Whilst some of these look a bit "scruffy" all those I've play-checked play a bit better than graded. Good luck!
TITLES:- "(DIXIE J B) Skip Skat Doodle-Do/(LEECAN) Washboard Cut-Out " on HMV B5398.
Two superb jug and washboard sides on an extremely rare HMV issue. This is another disc, that on the rare occasions when a copy appears, is usually fairly beat-up. This is due to the combination of a very heavily-recorded bass line, plus repeated playing with steel needles! Visually this copy is E to E+, but I feel that although "Washboard Cut Out" plays to E and a bit better, the jug band side is more accurately E-. This disc does have a fine internal haircrack inder the label, which runs to the final turns of the grooves. However it does not sound, and in the thirty-odd years this copy has been on my shelf, the crack has not worsened at all! It may be quite some time before this particular issue comes up on Ebay again......

POSTAGE and SHIPPING As a long-time collector and buyer myself, I am all too aware of how much it costs to pack and ship fragile 78s, and have never charged more than is necessary to meet that cost. To ship one disc to the USA works out at about $25, including the cost of the box. Obviously, a parcel with three or four discs works out cheaper per disc. I normally ship overseas at Air Mail, Small Packet rate. (I will ship via Surface Mail if asked, but this usually means you wait up to eight weeks for your parcel.....and, curiously, it's not that much cheaper!) As always, if anyone is concerned about shipping costs please contact me before the listing ends, and I'll do my best to help. FINALLY....PLEASE WAIT for my invoice before paying for your discs! The final shipping cost may well be less than Ebay's "standard" figure.
