Description

DIZZY GILLESPIE Plays JOHNNY RICHARDS Conducts Discovery 10" LP DL-3013 1st Press N.Y. 1950

You're bidding on a Rare 1st Pressing of a very early Album by Dizzy Gillespie titled: Dizzy Gillespie Plays
Johnny Richards Conducts issued on a 10" LP by Discovery Records DL-3013 in 1950. There are 2 different
Pressings. One from California and one from New York. The N.Y. pressing is Much rarer. It features a Maroon colored
label with a different design logo. The Back Cover Slick is also different. There are no photos of the session and no
credit for the liner notes. The California Back Cover has 3 photos and the liner notes are credited to Dick Bock.
Due to these differences , I'm sure the N.Y. pressing is the True 1st Pressing. The LP is in VG+ condition with No
scratches and just some light surface marks and lines. It looks great and the labels are excellent. It plays fine with No
groove wear distortion and only the occasional light pop or tick. The Cover is VG+ with 2 2" splits on the bottom spine,
some light bending and rub marks on the front and back and 2 stamps on the back cover. The lower one has the #
2508 written in pen as well. The upper stamp says, "all sales final no returns".

                                                                              Starting Bid $25.00
