The photos will show a split of about 1/2 inch which is visible on both sides but has apparently not completely separated. While taking the closeup photos, it is clear that one side is more visible and possibly the split itself is not completely impacting both sides. One of the photos shows clearly the split on the Barking side but the photo doesn't show one on the other side. To the naked eye, both sides are impacted but one is more pronounced than the other.
I have no idea why or how that happens but the audio you will hear is being recorded AFTER the seller discovered the issue. The record itself looks great. There is some sort of magic marker mark on the label of the Bird Dog side but it barely shows up. Labels look great otherwise. This record comes with what is probably the correct Decca sleeve for 1957 but no assurances on that.
Normally records like this get tossed away once you see the split. But due to its rarity I decided to list it in case someone wants it for "show" more than "play." I fully expected it to have pops but....once I recorded it, the surprise was that the record still plays fine. BOTH sides played without any evidence at all as you will hear when you listen. Obviously, the buyer needs to be fully aware and bid accordingly. We make no guarantees and will not accept a return. There can be no assurance the record arrives fully intact but it will be packaged with more care than ever. We alway use special 45 mailers from Bags Unlimited but will exceed that with this one. Not sure what just yet but it will be protected for sure.
The absence of the dead wax "1973" seems to be the confirmation that this is in fact an original issue.
LABELS:
We rely on extreme close-up photos to describe the label condition. The photos are the actual item being sold and always feature both sides. Any other issues will be pointed out here. Both labels are top condition.
DISC:
We always record the entire track of the actual record being sold. There are no filters or equalization applied. The record is recorded "flat". Buyers should assume that most older records will have some surface, background noise along with a pop or two and sometimes more. That is why the time is taken to record the full record so you can be the judge as to the audio quality. The audio is available for both tracks.
PRACTICES & POLICIES:
Most records are visually inspected and then washed and cleaned. Higher valued records will include audio samples of the exact record being listed. Our photos are also original ones of the exact item. We do not play grade or rate records.
Our refund policy is based on total buyer satisfaction so we only refund full payment upon return. We do not offer post purchase partial refunds.
INTERNATIONAL
A reminder we always comply with Ebay and Customs official policy and code the "value" slot of the Customs Form with the actual purchase price. Records with values exceeding $100 require upgraded USPS Priority service as there is no other reliable means to track the shipment. Wait for the invoice prior to payment please.
