RECORD CONDITION: BOTH SIDES ARE VG++. VERY LIGHT SCRATCHES. NOTHING EXCESSIVE AND DOES NOT AFFECT PLAYBACK. BEAUTIFUL BLUE NOTE MONO SOUND. EXCELLENT LABELS. COVER IS VG++. ALL CORNERS AND SEAMS AND OUTER SEAM INTACT. MINOR WEAR ON SEAMS. EXCELLENT CONDITION FOR A 45 YEAR-PLUS ALBUM COVER. THIS WOULD BE OTHER DEALERS NM OR NM-, BUT I AM VERY CAREFUL ABOUT MY GRADING. PLAY GRADED AND LISTED CONSERVATIVELY. RECORD CLEANED USING A 16.5 VPI MACHINE.

ITEM INFORMATION: Rated a 5 stars LP by All Music Jazz. The review states, “For this excellent album, trumpeter Donald Byrd teams up with tenor saxophonist Charlie Rouse, baritonist Pepper Adams, pianist Walter Davis, Jr., bassist Sam Jones and drummer Art Taylor. Together the sextet performs three Byrd originals, two Davis songs and the standard "Witchcraft." Although none of the new tunes caught on, the group (which includes two distinctive saxophonists and the rapidly maturing trumpet of Donald Byrd) plays consistently creative and spirited solos in the hard bop idiom.”

A great Blue Note LP and a worthy addition to a quality jazz record collection.

GRADING: Sealed LP’s are noted in their description. I grade by both visual inspection and play. Mint is not used. Near Mint is my highest grade and should play problem free; VG++ should play problem free or with noted shortcomings noted in write-up.  VG+ is listed with any shortcomings noted in write-up. My description will be accurate. All items guaranteed, but I do not refund shipping costs.

FREQUENTCY OF SHIPPING: I do try and ship as quickly as I can, but sometimes it can take a week or so to send items out, depending on how many orders I have. Note that media mail can take three weeks from when I receive payment.
