Description
Up for auction is a nice copy of the Donald Byrd album "Free Form" released on Blue Note Records (4118) in 1962. This copy is a MONO pressing, Van Gelder stamped in the dead wax, New York USA labels. Comes with original Blue Note inner sleeve. Cover is in pretty nice condition. No seam splits, no writing. Front cover graphics are clean overall, some minor rubbing along right side. Upper right corner chipped. Rubbing loss along upper inch of spine. Flaking along left top seam. Otherwise, seams are strong and intact. Back cover is in very nice shape, bone white, no writing, very clean, no ring wear. I'd grade this cover EX- (Excellent Minus). The vinyl is in really nice shape. No obvious scratches or scuffs. Nice shine. Tiny hairline on Side Two that cannot be felt nor does it affect play back. Bright, clean labels. No marks around spindle holes. Perhaps some faint paper marks from the inner sleeve. I've played tested this record and it sounds really nice, no signs of repeating clicks, ticks, or distracting surface noise. Not audiophile clean, but very quiet when it needs to be. I'd grade this vinyl EX++ (Excellent Plus Plus). Overall, a very presentable, enjoyable sounding record.
