NOTES:......From Phoenix, Arizona, The Door Nobs included brothers Floyd and Jerry Westfall, who as a duo would achieve regional stardom and record five singles for Presta and Double Shot between 1966 and 1967. Hi-Fi Baby was a big Phoenix hit in the Fall of 1965. The guitar-driven screamer is not a typical garage rocker. In fact, it is a surf-frat-garage hybrid that blurs genres so much that years later it was included on the primarily rockabilly Desperate Rock and Roll Vol. 4. The Merseyish ballad I Need Your Lovin' Babe includes harmonica by Michael Bruce, later of The Spiders and The Nazz. The Door Nobs also recorded four raucous demos and three other songs at Debra Recording Studio in Phoenix that remain unreleased. Hi-Fi Baby originally came out with two label variations. It also can be heard on Bear Family's Phoenix Panorama: The Viv Labels.
