DOORS - Waiting for the sun - UK Elektra A1/B1 flawed original mono LP
These records are all from my personal collection built up over almost 50 years. Some were bought new, others pre-owned so condition will vary. Please do read and understand the detailed description which is my honest personal assessment - you can always check how good or bad that is by checking my feedback. My attempt at grading is based on the commonly used Record Collector grading system. Questions are welcome if anything is unclear. Happy bidding

The Album:
The late great Jim Morrison & co with their 3rd album - Hello I love you, Unknown Soldier, Spanish Caravan etc. I did not buy a copy when it came out as my best mate had one, and so this was the best I could manage when I eventually got round to looking for one. It actually plays better than it looks thanks to that heavy duty mono press BUT it has a factory flaw. Check out the picture of side 2 - there is a cross shaped area of discolouration, almost like wide wheel spokes, and also similar shading round the rim. It seems to cause some light intermittent background hissing in places - not over intrusive but if you listen hard enough you can catch it once in a while (and if you don't listen out for it, you don't really notice it's there). Anyway, I can't grade this one above a G+ because of how it looks. The sleeve is also in rough shape, but I'll list it anyway as someone might appreciate a cheap first pressing which actually plays better than expected
Cover: Gatefold unlaminated sleeve is in quite rough condition. I think one corner got a bit damp at some time so there's a stain top left corner, and there is a corresponding surface tear inside the gatefold where the two surfaces had stuck together. It's otherwise intact but with general wear.
Labels: First issue Ekektra orange labels. No stickers or writing, quite a few spindle marks.
Vinyl: Vinyl has ths discolouration as described above. It otherwise has a few hairline scrapes, no particularly nasty marks. It plays quite well throughout with just intermittent light background interference
Overall:
A playable copy of this album in a scruffy sleeve - I'd guess it would professionally grade at (cover/vinyl) G / G+

Please note that I try to test-play at least part of each record before listing, but do not have time to play fully in all cases. Postage: Reflecting new Royal Mail charges April 2014: Within UK, weight ranges usually allow up to three LPs to be posted for the same cost as one. For all other destinations costs are weight dependent, but incremental cost from additional LP's will normally cost less than the first. I am happy to hold records for a while if you wish to bid on more and combine shipment, but it helps if you can let me know particularly when bidding on items separated by a few days. Approximate prices for normal postage & packing -
UK £3.55 for up to 1kg (1,2 or 3 average weight LPs).
Europe £5.50 normal airmail, £10.50 signed-for. + £1.45 each additional,
Rest of world £7.80 normal airmail, £12.80 signed-for. + £2.70 each additional item
These amounts include actual Royal Mail cost for first class or air mail, plus 35p for cost of packaging material (a brand new custom mailer with stiffener). The greedy snouts in the trough at Ebay now charge sellers 10% of postage costs for which there can be no justification - I refuse to pass this shameful levy on to buyers, so you only pay post and packing.
Apologies, but owing to unreliability of some postal services, I will not ship to Italy, Russian Federation, & other former Soviet countries unless a signed for service is selected and paid for.
Losses: Royal Mail have reduced maximum compensation to £20 unless items are signed-for. Compensation on signed-for shipments is up to £50. Overseas purchasers - if your purchase is well over £20, a signed for service must be selected when paying or shipping will be at your own risk, not mine, and normal airmail will only be covered for up to £20.

I have decided to sell my whole vinyl collection as I know it won't be appreciated by my daughter or grandchildren, so I'm shifting it myself and hope I find good homes for it. Listed items are selected at random so there should be a decent if not particularly logical mix coming up over the next few months if you keep an eye on my other items now and in the future.
