Boxset containing a book ("Caymmi Som, Imagem, Magia" by Maria Barbosa e Vera de Alencar with 219 pages) and a double LP (gatefold sleeve with a 4 page attached insert with texts and credits).
This was not a commercial album, at the time it was mainly distributed to Fundação Emilio Odebrecht customers.
The first LP has a solo recording by Dorival Caymmi accompanied only by his guitar (violão). In between songs he offers some explanations on the songs origins and lyrics, and both sides begin and end with a testimony (Jorge Amado, Caetano Veloso, Tom Jobim, Carybé). The second LP has a recording by Dorival Caymmi accompanied by an ensemble conducted by Radamés Gnattali, with the exception of C1 that is an orchestral instrumental piece composed by Radamés Gnattali (based on some Dorival Caymmi compositions). All recording were made especially for this release in April & May 1985.
