Dorothy Ashby – Afro Harping (Cadet, USA, 1968)
Superb original pressing for this US jazz album on Cadet. A cult album, a masterpiece, produced by Richard Evans and featuring one of the only harpist playing on the jazz scene… the magnificient Dorothy Ashby. The stand out tracks are “Soul Vibrations”, “Come Live With Me” and an amazing version of “The Look of Love”. Very subtle exotica jazz with a soft grooviness and an afro touch. Full track listing : “Soul Vibrations”, “Games”, “Action Line”, “Lonely Girl”, “Life Has Its Trial”, “Afro Harping”, “Little Sunflower”, “Theme from Valley of the Dolls”, “Come Live With Me”, “The Look of Love”. Perfect condition, cover and record are mint.
