Description
1972 ON Records XPL-1029, this is an original US pressing - NOT a reissue - of the impossible to find D.R. Hooker LP "The Truth". This legendary folk psych LP is one of the most sought after private releases of the early 70's which I recently unearthed out of a collection near Danbury, CT. Jacket is NM-, showing some minor ring wear on the back cover and a small tanned rectangle (about 1" x 3/4 ") where it looks like an old price sticker had been removed. Vinyl is a shiny and clean EX, with some minor paper marks on either side. Sound quality is solid throughout (a bit of crackle is noticable at the beginning of side 1 before the music kicks in, plus similar instances between tracks and during some quiet interludes) while blue labels with silver print are crisp with no spindle wear. This copy also comes with the original fold open lyric insert, which is in beautiful NM condition, showing slight tanning. By far the best original of this one I have come across.
