Description
This is an LP by Dr. John, The Night Tripper called The Sun, Moon & Herbs on ATCO Records SD 33-362 from 1971 from my personal collection. I've had it for about 30 years and this is the second time I've played it, which is for grading purposes. The first time I recorded it to cassette. Side One has a little noise at the very beginning that is gone within about five seconds. It plays M- and sounds great. Side Two has very light noise at the end of the second song and into the third. There is light noise throughout the last song that gets a little louder after it's finished and into the matrix. I'll grade it a very nice VG++ and it is close to M-. Both sides play with excellent tone and sound. The cover is M- also. There is a light mark in the upper right corner on the front in the blue. It also has a small corner bend in the bottom right corner, and a tiny bit of wear on the other corner points that isn't even really worth mentioning. It comes with it's original inner sleeve. The record has caused a partial split in one side of the sleeve (which is very common). Dr. John had some excellent guest musicians playing and singing on this album including Eric Clapton on guitar, Graham Bond, Carl Radle, Jim Gordon, Bobby Keyes, Jim Price, Calvin "Fuzzy" Samuels, Mick Jagger, Doris Troy, Shirley Goodman, and Bobby Whitlock, along with The Memphis Horns just to name a few. I believe this to be an original first pressing but I am not positive. I'm not sure how to tell on this one.
