Description
DR. STRANGELY STRANGE - HEAVY PETTING 1970 ORIGINAL UK PRESSING ON VERTIGO RECORDS CAT No. 6360 009
A rare and sought-after original UK LP, with Vertigo swirl labels and inner sleeve. This the misprint variant, where the track Sign On Your Mind has been misspelled on the label as Sigh On Your Mind. I am starting the auction low and there is no reserve.
CONDITION OF THE VINYL
This is quite a difficult one to grade: side 1 is in nice condition, with just a couple of minor marks. Most of side 2 is similarly good, but track 1 has an area with three shallow scratches of about 2cm length, plus two shorter blemishes (please see the last photo above). These only cause a couple of pops on my turntable. There is a small squiggle (initials?) in pen on the side 2 label.
Overall, the record plays very well, with just occasional surface noise/faint clicks. I would grade playback as VG+, whilst visually (due to the aforementioned marks) I would say G+.
CONDITION OF THE SLEEVE AND INNER
The gimmick fold-out sleeve doesn't have much in the way of wear or shelf rub, but please note the following issues:
1. A small area of writing on one of the fold-down flaps, across the small image of a tree.
2. The opposite flap has a tear of several centimetres where it folds around the bottom edge.
3. The swirl inner sleeve has a little writing in the top left corner, and a small squiggle in poly centre window.
I have tried to show these details in the photos so please have a look and assess them yourself.
The album will be packed very carefully and securely in sturdy packaging to ensure it reaches you safely. You will see many favourable comments about the quality of our packaging in our previous feedback.
