Description

Dragon recorded their self-titled album in 1976 and had broken up by sometime the following year.  Before their split, they recorded material for a second album, which got released years later under the title Kalahen.  Sjef Oellers from the Gnosis site says this about Kalahen: “Dragon's music falls mostly in the hard progressive category with a psychy edge (especially the guitar playing).  Nevertheless, the album starts with a dreamy flute-led ballad. At the end, some spacey organ adds a psych feel. I think that the vocals are few and far between enough to not really interfere with the mostly instrumental music. For a lack of a better description, Dragon sound to me like a mix of Iron Butterfly, Uriah Heep, Van der Graaf Generator, 70s Italian Art Rock, Subject Esq. and Lagger Blues Machine (the band that eventually became Dragon). The last track, "Kalahen," is an 18 minute piece that sounds a bit like Biglietto per L'Inferno with loads of Mellotron. Especially in the second half, there is some great heavy progressive to be heard with great jamming by organ, Mellotron and electric guitar.”  Released in Belgium on Ficrivan Records in 1988, this comes in a gatefold cover and is a collector’s hand-numbered limited edition of only 400 copies.  The cover is in Ex--- and the record is in M- condition.  (Click on the “me” icon above for info on my grading system.)  For Dragon’s first LP, see my other auctions.

Payment and Shipping Information

Winner pays postage (in the U.S., this would be about $4.58 for one LP sent by Media Mail).  Package insured upon request.  Winners outside of the U.S. will be notified of postal fees, but an approximate cost for one LP to many countries is $15.60 by airmail (but Canada and Mexico will be less than this for most single LP packages).  If you bid on and win more than one item, you WILL save on postage!  Note: I do not gouge on postage and packaging costs.  Record will be carefully packaged in a strong, oversized LP mailer.  If you have any questions, feel free to contact me.  E-mail: david.o@jjldj.com.  International Customers: please DO NOT use the Checkout (Pay Now) option, or you may end up paying more for postage than is necessary, as eBay tends to calculate shipping and handling on the high side.  Instead, wait for me to contact you with an invoice and the correct total amount due.  I will do my best to contact you within a day of the auction’s end.
