"DREAM LETTER - LIVE IN LONDON 1968" ~ TIM BUCKLEY. 1990 UK ISSUE DOUBLE LIVE LP: D FIEND 200 on the DEMON Record Label.
Tim Buckley (February 14, 1947 – June 29, 1975) was an American vocalist, songwriter and musician. His musical styles varied, firstly folk oriented and later incorporating jazz, psychedelia, funk, soul, avant-garde and an evolving "voice as instrument," sound. He died aged 28, leaving behind wife Judy and son Taylor, and his son the late Jeff Buckley from his earlier marriage to Mary Guibert.
This is a Near Mint UK 1st. pressing (A1;B1;C1;D1) of "Dream Letter: Live in London 1968" which is his live album. The album was actually recorded in Queen Elizabeth Hall, London, England on 7th October, 1968, and not as mistakenly credited on the lower back cover as on 10 July, due the different American (10/7/68) and British (7/10/68) formatting of dates. The concert features session bassist Danny Thompson (also from British folk group Pentangle), guitarist Lee Underwood and vibraphone player David Friedman.
The concert features songs from Buckley's albums: "Goodbye and Hello", "Happy Sad" and "Blue Afternoon", and a cover of Fred Neil's "Dolphins", from his album "Sefronia". The "Carnival Song" which appears here is not the song of the same name from "Goodbye and Hello", but an entirely different composition. Five other tracks from this set had, at the time of "Dream Letter's" release in 1990, never been heard on record before.
