A cohesive album that has a unique character!
The Sun Moon & Herbs 1971 studio album by New Orleans R&B artist Dr. John, is notable for contributions from Eric Clapton, Mick Jagger, and other well-known musicians. It was apparently intended to be a three-album set but was cut down to a single disc, but saturated with the incantations of the great medicine man! New Orleans' favourite son Malcolm John Rebenack aka DR JOHN - a sad loss to music and with too many collaborative associations, on record and live, to mention.
CONDITION;
The VINYL I can grade NEAR MINT and a TOP playing record. Pristine.
Classic bright Yellow Labels are clean NEAR MINT.
The solid heavy card GATEFOLD COVER is EXCELLENT, a respectable example, only small staple holes through the top corner.
The cool CUSTOM LYRICS INNER has only a short bottom edge split (where the disc has sat for 48 years!)
and is otherwise as new.
The lp is now in a plain white sleeve of course.
An original and quite rare issue now.
