Description
This is an overall fine copy from the rarer 1973 U.S. repressing of a collection of 1968 recordings by Duane and Gregg Allman, originally released in 1972. The tracks on the record were recorded after the break up of the Allmans' pop-psych outfit the Hour Glass, and shortly before they formed the Southern rock combo that they're best known for. The brothers are supported in these recordings by Florida psych group the 31st of February, whose sole LP came out around this time. The record's standout track is a ripping version of the apocalyptic folk song "Morning Dew," which puts the Grateful Dead's version to shame. Half of the tracks are original compositions, three of them written or co-written by producer Steve Alaimo. The gatefold jacket has creasing and wear in the corners, ring wear on the back cover, seam wear, and light spine and edge wear (VG++). The disc is clean with some light scuffing and loss of glossiness, and plays with light surface noise (EX-).
I am in the process of selling off a large personal collection amassed over two decades. All discs have been stored in plastic lined inner sleeves separate from their jackets. The jackets have been stored in plastic sleeves. I have play graded (spot checked) discs except where otherwise noted.
