Description

Beautiful original copies of both 1959 Verve LPs by Duke Ellington and Johnny Hodges: Back to Back on MG-V-8317, and Side by Side on V6-8345. Back to Back is the first mono pressing and Side by Side is a 1961 Stereo pressing. Both discs are VG+, with some slight sleeve scuffs and minor hairlines that generally do not affect the play. They both play just beautifully. Back to Back plays with barely the slightest noise or tick anywhere. Just a touch between some tracks. Side by Side has a little light ticking in the first track and maybe an isolated tick or two here and there on that side, but barely. Mostly that whole side plays very nicely. The second side plays nearly perfectly as well, with only light background noise between some tracks. Really great players, both of them. Both covers are really lovely as well, with a few issues. Back to Back has a seam split across the entire top edge, and a little fraying in a couple places on other edges, but it really is stunningly clean otherwise. No ringwear and generally crisp edges and corners. Really nice. Side by Side has corner wear at the top and bottom left corners, but otherwise is almost perfect. These are both just beautiful copies.
