Inserts/ inner sleeve details : Original dry textured illustrated paper inner sleeve. Printed in France by Glory

Booklet/ cover details : Crimson logo (as opposed to blood red coloured UK issue). Features 4 mettalic silver bands integrated into the cover artwork, 2 on front and 2 on rear repsectivley. Glossy finish sleeve. Printed in France by Glory

Booklet/ cover : EX++ (Minus 5 very light miniscule creases at top plus 2 extremely light creases in photos beside Nick Rhodes’ head – barely noticeable and very unobtrusive)

Inner sleeve : EX

Vinyl (Side A) : (8/10) EX

Vinyl (Side B) : (5/10) G++ (Has numerous light marks that don’t affect play – N.B. The vinyl has not been replaced in order to provide the original record. But this is unimportant as it’s the sleeve that’s really up for auction. There are not as far as I can see many discernable differences between this and the standard issue)

The silver band issue! This is probably a once in a lifetime opportunity. I have only seen this item once (And that’s the time purchased this one here). I have not seen or heard of it since. And yours truly has kept this example jealously ever since! I have done searches from Google to Musicstack, Ebay and I have still not come across even some information about it!? So I must presume that it’s RARE – VERY RARE! If another example turns up for sale on Ebay after I have put this in, I will eat my hat and hide away in shame! This item must be as rare if not rarer than the notorious (no pun intended!) ‘bum’ sleeve from the same country. But it’s much more beautiful. I reckon the French EMI facilities pressed up a couple of hundred or so commercialised example only, and then to cut down production costs as the record was becoming popular, they reverted to the standard grey band from then onwards. A truly delightful example to own! It’s very beautiful to behold, it sparkles at you and makes it known to the observer that it’s unique and suits the artwork of the sleeve very well. Not to mention the lovely crimson red coloured logo variation! Get yourself a stunning and quite unique foreign pressing of their great debut album. The French simply enhanced an already beautiful Pop Art sleeve with an added  touch of class indeed! No ugly-looking scrawled upon acetate stuff here! Just pure loveliness – A thing of beauty is truly a joy forever!
