Description
Here is the Dustbin Full Of Rubbish Compliation Lp released on Grants Records back in 1974. A Great old compilation that you NEVER see anymore – rare British acetates, demos and live BBC stuff, most of which haven’t been comped anywhere else! Live BBC tracks by Tomorrow and a pre-Yes Jon Anderson-led Mabel Greer’s Toyshop (including a fascinating early version of “Beyond And Before!”). Cuts by the Action (“Brain” and “Little Boy”) have subsequently appeared elsewhere but still kick psychedelic a**, and four unreleased tracks by the Spiggy Topes have me wondering whether they were an early incarnation of the Velvett Fogg (they do “Come Away Melinda” here). Biggest pleasant surprise of ‘em all – an unreleased 1966 acetate from The Name (“Hello Edythe”) that’s a Grade A top-level British toytown popsike masterpiece! And if it were reallyrecorded in 1966 (sounds more like 1968), it proves these guys were wayahead of their time. Rubbish? Hardly. This stuff is a veritable freakbeat psych treasure trove for fans of English psychedelia. Should be guarded by a paisley dragon.
