Description
Firstly I'd like to say I'm not a record collector, I purchased this record as part of a joblot with other items and do not have a record player to test it's playing condition.
I have based my grading on Record Collectors Magazine to which I've included below.
Sleeve condition:
The sleeve I would say is in VG to Excellent condition. The edges show minimal signs of wear with slight scuffing on the corners. The spine and edges are not torn in any way.
Front:
There is a small patch with some very small lifting of the clear laminate on one edge about 2cm (see photo). On the top edge there seems to be some purple stain marks again very minimal, hardly noticeable and may clean off (see photo).
Reverse:
Again very clean, some yellowing with age, has the same light purple stain on one edge (see photo) also has a shop sticker on base which could be removed.
Record condition:
Purely from a visual point of view I would say the record is in an Excellent condition, I can only see 1 to 2 light surface marks on each side and looks like its had minimal play, like I said I haven't played the record and don't have anything to clean the dust off - I will leave that to an expert.
Record Collector Magazine's Grading Guide:
"MINT: The record itself is in brand new condition with no surface marks or deterioration in sound quality. The cover and any extra items such as the lyric sheet, booklet or poster are in perfect condition. Records advertised as Sealed or Unplayed should be Mint.
EXCELLENT: The record shows some signs of having been played, but there is very little lessening in sound quality. The cover and packaging might have slight wear and / or creasing.
VERY GOOD: The record has obviously been played many times, but displays no major deterioration in sound quality, despite noticeable surface marks and the occasional light scratch. Normal wear and tear on the cover or extra items, without any major defects, is acceptable.
GOOD: The record has been played so much that the sound quality has noticeably deteriorated, perhaps with some distortion and mild scratches. The cover and contents suffer from folding, scuffing of edges, spine splits, discolouration, etc.
