Description
You are bidding on a first press vinyl copy of the rockabilly classic - Dale Hawkins - Oh! Suzy Q (Chess 1429).
I have collecting records for 30 years and this is one of the most beautiful copies of the legendary Hawkins record I've seen. Cover corners are nice, no ringwear, no fading. The only "issue" is a small crease (please see photo) before the C in Chess. Cover is graded VG+
The heavyweight vinyl is clean, it plays beautifully. There in an actual pressing error between tracks 2&3 on side 2. There is a slight divot that runs through both tracks. I listened to this record today with the tonearm set at 1.5g , a record clamp and the volume about 92db (in other words - loud!) it played clean through both of the tracks. The rest of the tracks play so clean it is unbelievable. Vinyl is graded VG+
Label is clean and crisp, spindle marks are very faint. Label is graded NM.
Dead wax: Chess LP 8675
Chess LP 8676
If you have been waiting for a beautiful copy of Oh! Suzy Q, I am confident that this is the one.
I use Goldmine Standards to grade all LP's
