When metal and hardcore collided in the mid-‘80s, it set off an explosion that has permeated throughout both subcultures for the last 20 some years. One of the bands that rose from the collision was a crushing, volatile metallic-hardcore beast known as Damnation A.D. Hailing from the Washington D.C. hardcore punk scene, the band took their cues from vicious acts such as Integrity and Corrosion Of Confomity while blending a swirling, melancholic guitar style inspired by The Cure.

Damnation A.D. took this hybrid and successfully combined it with a tormented vocal style and inspiring message to forge a tortuous sludgy hard rock, which soon became their own unique style that no one could dare pigeonhole. It was abrasive, mid-tempo riff-tastic metal with a hardcore intensity and volume that would be praised by fans of both scenes.

After years of self-released singles and stints with other labels, Damnation A.D. partnered with Victory Records and brought with them a monstrous arsenal of new songs for 2007's ultra-intense In This Life Or The Next. Although you may think you know what metal-core is, In This Life Or The Next served as another giant step in its redefinition. Damnation A.D. continues to raise the bar in the metal and hardcore crossover sound, spreading their sonic blueprint around the globe.
