Description

The greatest unknown guitarist of all time.  The Pride of PG County, Washington, DC's own Danny Gatton.  A guitarist's guitarist.  While the average music lover may never have heard him or heard of him, ask a guitar player  . . . . they'll tell you about Danny's jaw-dropping prowess, inventiveness, dedication to his craft.   While I have listed this as Rockabilly, Danny's music defies categorization.  But not only was he a musician of the first rank, take a close look at the photo and you'll see this gizmo on his guitar.  An effects box of his own design.  Danny was a technician, craftsman, mechanic, everything.  The Les Paul of his generation.   This was his first album on the tiny DC label, NRG records.  About 30,000 of these were made, with one third of them on red vinyl.

This one - NLP9-2916 - is in absolutely pristine condition.  The jacket still has the original cellophane on it, though it is starting to tear.  Other than some aging at the open end, sleeve is pristine as well.  It has  been in my possession for 29 years, and treated with all the reverence the man and this disc deserved.
