Dave Brubeck Quartet-Angel Eyes-1965 Jazz 2 Eye In Shrink NM/E Angel Eyes is a 1965 studio album by Dave Brubeck and his quartet of music by Matt Dennis. The album peaked at 122 on the Billboard 200. The cover features a photo of model Terry Reno, who also appeared on the cover of My Favorite Things. The album was reviewed by Scott Yanow at Allmusic, writing that the songs "... are given superior and swinging treatments with fine solos from Brubeck and altoist Paul Desmond."
David Warren Brubeck was an American jazz pianist and composer. Often regarded as a foremost exponent of cool jazz, Brubeck's work is characterized by unusual time signatures and superimposing contrasting rhythms, meters, and tonalities, and combining different styles and genres, such as classical, jazz, and blues.
Born in Concord, California, Brubeck was drafted into the US Army but was spared from combat service when a Red Cross show he had played at became a hit. Within the US Army, Brubeck formed one of the first racially diverse bands. In 1951, he formed the Dave Brubeck Quartet, which kept its name despite shifting personnel. The most successful and prolific lineup of the quartet was the one between 1958 and 1967. This lineup, in addition to Brubeck, featured saxophonist Paul Desmond, bassist Eugene Wright, and drummer Joe Morello. A U.S. Department of State-sponsored tour in 1958 featuring the band inspired several of Brubeck's subsequent albums, most notably the 1959 album Time Out. Despite its esoteric theme and contrarian time signatures, Time Out became Brubeck's highest-selling album, and the first jazz album to sell over one million copies. The lead single from the album, "Take Five", a tune written by Desmond, similarly became the highest-selling jazz single of all time. The quartet followed up Time Out with four other albums in nonstandard time signatures, and some of the other songs from this series became hits, as well, including "Blue Rondo à la Turk" and "Unsquare Dance".

Please note that all records are conscientiously graded. Every effort is taken to grade accurately, and additional pictures are provided as necessary to prevent any undue surprises. Should you feel that you haven't received the value you paid for, returns will be gladly accepted. Sealed records must be returned in original sealed condition.
Goldmine standards are used on all records as follows:
Mint (M)-A perfect record in every way. This grading will only be used on a sealed album.  Near Mint (NM or M-) - A nearly perfect record including labels. Shiny vinyl with no visible defects. Labels have no writing or stickers nor are any spindle marks visible. Covers have no creases, ring wear, or splits of any kind. *Near Mint Minus (NM-) is used to indicate a nearly perfect record with nice shiny vinyl that may have one or two very fine hairline scratches and/or some very minor scuffs that would not affect play. Very Good+ or Excellent (VG+ or E) - VG+ records will show slight signs of wear including light scuffs or fine scratches, and the label may have spindle marks. Covers may show some creasing and minor ring wear and cut-outs or punch-holes. Splits less than 1 inch long may also be present. Writing and/or stickers may also be present. *Excellent (E) is used to indicate a record better than very good plus. An excellent record will have nice gloss and very few fine scratches and/or light paper scuffs. The cover will have no splits and no major creases. Very Good (VG) - May have scratches feelable with a fingernail. Most of the original gloss will be gone or it may be evident that the record has been played extensively. The cover will have ring wear and may have significant splitting of the seams. *These gradings have been added to further evaluate records according to condition.
A couple of final notes you may find useful. It is recommended that all records, even sealed records, be given a thorough cleaning prior to play. The Library of Congress archival site has information on their method for cleaning records. A static gun will help remove the inevitable static that will accumulate on the disc. Inexpensive and indispensable.
