THE DAVE CLARK FIVE - 'CATCH US IF YOU CAN'
1966 UK 1st PRESSING LP
This swinging LP from the film of the same name is a UK 1st mono pressing on the blue & black Columbia label: 33SX 1756
Both labels carry the 'Sold in UK..' text & 'Columbia Graphophone Co. Ltd..' rims.
The 'KT' tax/price code is present in the centre of the side 2 label.
Housed in a front laminated, tri-flipback 'Garrod & Lofthouse' printed mono cover.
Complete with its original rice-paper lined 'Use Emitex..' inner-sleeve.
Matrix numbers: XAX 2882-1 & XAX 2883-1
Stamper codes: 1/A & 1/O

Labels: VERY GOOD +
A clean & bright pair but with numerous spindle trails & slight touch-up to the center holes.
Visual: VERY GOOD +
Clean, bright & glossy surfaces which when examined in strong daylight show up some harmless light marks consistent with a moderate amount of careful play, but no heavy marks or deep/feelable scratches. Close inspection examination directly beneath my halogen desk lamp reveals no additional faults or wear.
Play: EXCELLENT
Despite a numerous amount of play, this is an extremely good sounding copy with no groove/play wear or indeed any other significant deterioration to the sound quality. My careful play check at volume uncovered no clicks, pops, ticks or any other audible distraction or major faults.
Cover
VERY GOOD +
A great looking example with a bright and eye-catching front panel which remains clean & glossy with just three small 'thumbnails', but no other significant signs of wear. There is some minor corner rubbing & slight wear to the rear opening edge, but no tears either side. The rear panel is clean & bright and free from any significant marks or any writing or missing paper. All flipbacks are fully intact, as are both seams and the fully worded spine.
Inner-sleeve
VERY GOOD +
Clean & crisp with slight age-toning & two small spots on one side, but no writing or other major faults.
- Strict & grading under strong daylight & directly beneath a halogen desk lamp to UK 'RECORD COLLECTOR' standards.
- I carefully play every record I sell on a $5,000 Rega P9 turntable at volume and list all visual and audible faults.
- All the photos in this listing have been taken by myself and are of the actual items for sale.
- All records are professionally & securely in custom-made record mailing boxes with the disc removed from the cover.
