David Allan Coe - Greatest Hits (1978 Columbia LP, Vinyl in Good Condition) - Classic Outlaw Country!
Description:
Up for auction is a solid copy of David Allan Coe – Greatest Hits, the 1978 Columbia Records compilation LP (catalog PC 35627 / KC 35627) straight from my family’s longtime record collection. This is the real deal for fans of raw, unfiltered outlaw country – the album that captures DAC at his peak in the late '70s.
Featuring many of his signature outlaw anthems and rowdy classics like:
- Take This Job and Shove It
- The Ride (early version vibes, but this comp packs the hits)
- Longhaired Redneck
- Willie, Waylon and Me
- Jack Daniels, If You Please
- Divers Do It Deeper
- Jody Like a Melody …and more hard-living, no-apologies tracks that made Coe a legend.
Condition details (honest grading from a non-professional collector):
- Vinyl: Good (G) to Very Good (VG) overall. Plays through cleanly with no skips or major issues. Normal light surface marks/scuffs from age and play (typical for a 45+ year-old family-owned record), but nothing deep or feelable that causes distortion. Sounds warm and full on a good turntable – tested and enjoyable!
- Cover: Good (G) to Very Good (VG). Solid with some edge/corner wear, light ring wear, minor creasing, and typical storage aging (no splits, no writing, no major seam damage). Inner sleeve is the original (may show some wear). From a smoke-free home, stored upright for decades.
This isn’t a mint museum piece, but it’s a genuine, well-loved survivor that still delivers that gritty David Allan Coe energy. Perfect for playing, adding to an outlaw country collection, or gifting to a fan who appreciates the real stuff.
No low-ball shenanigans – fair starting price for a playable, original 1978 pressing. Ships fast in a sturdy mailer with cardboard stiffeners and proper packaging to keep it safe.
