Description
Dr. John's Spin Factory brings you some of the best of David Bowie's music from 1969 through 1990 in one convenient, 2-LP package. The album is, CHANGESBOWIE. This is the RYKO version of what amounts to a David Bowie 'greatest hits' package. This version was released in 1990 and holds 18 songs on two, full-length, vinyl LPs. This double album is primarily an expanded and remastered version of RCA's 1976 single LP compilation titled, ChangesOneBowie that held 11 tracks. RYKO's CHANGESBOWIE also includes some of the tracks from ChangesTwoBowie, a second Bowie compilation that RCA released in 1980. Finally, there is one other notable difference between the RYKO compilation (up for sale) and the first RCA compilation: On the RYKO, the original hit "Fame" has been remixed and is titled "Fame 90." Myself, I don't have a preference, as I find both mixes equally worthy.
As for vinyl quality, both discs play like new, hence the play grade of Mint. Both also look like new. The discs sound even better following ultrasonic cleaning. Visually, the 180 gram, "Coke Bottle Green Clear" virgin vinyl is both unique and strikingly beautiful. The jacket does bear signs of both wear and age, as noted in the description of the album's condition. The jacket's condition merits the rating of VG+. Nonetheless, for its age, the jacket looks and feels totally solid. The colors are vibrant and the artwork is lovely, especially on the inside of this 1st pressing, gatefold, double album.
I will ship this album as I do all my used vinyl. The discs will be in their sleeves and placed inside a (provided) plastic slipcover along with the empty jacket. This prevents the vinyl discs from damaging the edges of the cardboard jacket during transit.
For those seeking nothing but the best of David Bowie (1969-1990), you cannot miss with CHANGESBOWIE!
Good luck! As David Bowie sings, "Let's Dance!" All the best in music, Dr. John
