Description

DAVID BOWIE 'DAVID BOWIE' - DEBUT ALBUM  US Release - 1967 -  Catalogue Number DES 18003 Matrix numbers - ZAL 7656 / ZAL 7657

This US original 1967 first pressing was given to me by David's first manager - Ken Pitt in the mid 1970s along with some other Bowie rarities (Ken wrote the liner notes on the back sleeve of this album). Ken and I were close friends for many years and he even name checks me (Greg Rose) in his biography 'The Pitt Report' (page 75). A fascinating read! This is the scarcer 'Stereo' version of the release
CONDITION DISC: The record is in near Mint condition. Both labels are excellent with no spindle marks or blemishes. SLEEVE: Although neither side has any writings/ink marks, two of the glued edges have become separated from the front and back covers. The front cover has disc ring wear marks and a promo hole in the bottom right corner which was the normal practice for Promo and 'Not For Sale' albums in the US. Hence, I have only graded the sleeve as 'Good'. Please see attached photos
