LOT DESCRIPTION

Rare noteworthy original UK first pressing of David Bowie's 1974 Diamond Dogs LP (APL1 0576) being a very beautiful early first Clout & Baker Ltd. gatefold sleeve and an LP with all of the sought after "first pressing" identifiers.
This LOT also includes 4x press photos from the 1974 Diamond Dogs Tour and later printed in the USA around 2009 on a Fujifilm archive quality photographic paper. 
BIOGRAPHY
Issued by RCA UK May 31st 1974 in a breathtaking matte effect gatefold sleeve with Side A being the '1oly' lacquer cut as identified on the factory etched matrix number (see large photos provided) Side A) ARL1-0576A-1oly and Side B) ARL1-0576B-6E, both indicative of the early VARIANT 1 first UK pressing.
Track 1 FUTURE LEGEND still has the co-credit "Bewitched" (R. Rogers) as at the time of pressing Mainman had still not resolved this songwriting credit. Later pressings of the LP did not contain the "Bewitched" credit to R. Rogers..
The LP rear sleeve still contains a credit to the printing company "Clout & Baker" which was deleted on later pressings.

CONDITION
The gatefold sleeve is an excellent example of this sought after early first UK pressing with no graffiti, stickers or handwriting but the sleeve spine credits and titles have some shelf wear and rubbing, please refer to the many large photographs provided to reassure yourself of the condition. 
All in all this is probably one of the most accomplished examples extant of this fifty year old Clout & Baker LP sleeve.
The LP has clean and tidy original bright orange RCA labels, the vinyl has plenty of visible surface marks, scuffs, hairlines and signs of previous playing.   
Please refer to the many large photographs which are of the actual LP you are bidding on. 
The four press photos are in excellent condition, with minimal signs of wear but the occasional surface scuff or minor crease.
