Description
An original 1st pressing of Diamond Dogs on the UK RCA label from 1974. Matrix A1/B1 'Oly'. Please note labels are consistent with 1st pressing - and the track credit 'Bewitched' is NOT mentioned on side 1. Clearly they forgot to credit the song, initially, and these are without doubt the very first 1st pressings. The heavy set vinyl comes housed in an original gatefold cover which is uncredited [this is also indicative of very 1st issue].
Vinyl (Ex/Ex+) Shiny like new and has clearly only seen the very lightest of use. Please note there is very light wobble at the outer edge. We measured this and its maximum amplitude is 1mm - i.e. visible - but almost zero effect on audio. Under close inspection there are a couple of light marks - nothing remotely troublesome though. A thorough testing from beginning to end reveals an EXCELLENT+ level of playback. Intros and inbetweens are silent and the audio comes across with superb clarity. Interference is minimal - practically nothing other than a couple of crackles right at the start. Even 'We Are The Dead' , which is often a tricky one to find playing good, is clean..and i mean CLEAN! The audio quality is topnotch - rich, vibrant, with lots of detail. Probably the best copy I've ever reviewed for audio...
Cover (Ex-) Remains in very nice shape with only light handling use front and back. There's a it of edge wear - slightly more noticeable on the spine, but all text is still just about readable. The interior is in lovely condition - no faults. Overall the cover has a really nice rigid feel to it.
